The best credit cards to travel with compared to the previous year

One of the things you often forget when planning a trip is choosing the right credit card. How many times I travel abroad with my friends and their credit cards don’t work! Or they travel with “normal” credit cards from Volksbank or Sparkasse, where they pay terrible commissions when they withdraw funds and pay abroad. Are you familiar with this situation? Read on to learn more about free credit card tips when you travel.

The range of credit cards is huge. Everyone has a checking account and the corresponding EC and credit cards. It often costs money. Either an annual fee or a foreign fee to withdraw money or even pay. These costs should not often be underestimated. Amounts are quickly added to a three-digit number if you are not careful!

Unfortunately, my favorite travel credit cards have advantages and disadvantages. Read the article carefully or take a look at the credit card comparison chart and decide which one is right for you. Here it really depends on your usage. By the way, I use all these credit cards:

Update 2018: Banco Santander no longer offers 100% direct debit of the amount of the Santander 1plus card bill. You can transfer money to this credit card manually at the end of the payment term or apply for a Barclaycard New Visa card as an alternative to travelling in Europe. Currently, Barclaycard even has an initial credit of 25 euros! But with a Barclaycard New Visa you can only withdraw cash within Europe for free.

I can no longer recommend N26 credit cards. At first I was very happy because I could manage everything with the help of the application. When there was an unauthorized withdrawal in Colombia (at least 300 €), the bank got complicated.

I had to report the theft to the police, as well as some other small things that ended up in the war by email. Even my cancellation had to be confirmed several times (DAS is probably not a customer service).
